"Honey? There's been a Delivery." The way Jazz said delivery, it deserved the capital letter. "I think the UPS guy injured his back getting the box on the porch. That better not be yarn."
I verified it was what I hoped it would be- a new printer. A laser printer that does color duplexes. This rare beast is no longer manufactured. It is Very Large. He helped me get it shoved into a corner of the office. Things were rearranged. I warned him more boxes would arrive soon. He was not comforted, even after I told him they would not be Yarn, especially since one of today's deliveries was from a bead shop. The other one was a couple of boxes of paper (because printers don't work without paper).
But I'm looking forward to becoming a first name basis with the Post Office clerk.
Hooray! I'm in business as a virtual office assistant! Just as soon as I can convince the Beast to work for me.

I've started doing some designing (in a very small way) and am going to be using some beads. May I ask what bead supplier you're using?

I just placed a small order from her and got fast, accurate service. I have no reason to doubt Beadwrangler's good. But, I really like having choices and comparisons.

Yes, it was for beads.
If you are still "In a small way" wanting to be a designer, I highly recommend touring your local shops- there surely must be someone selling beads in Las Vegas. I can't tell you the value of seeing and handling the beads directly, of taking the yarn in and looking to see if it will fit through the holes, and exploring what's available.
My bead supplier is through my local needlework shop. I have a long relationship with the owners that has always been favorable. She is willing to help me with this connection, because we're not ready for a huge inventory or the ability to deal direct with a wholesale shop, but she will order large quantities for us. I strongly recommend that you build a relationship with your local shop and see what they will do for you. I could mention my local shop to you, but I don't know if they would cut such a deal with you because they do not know you, in all honesty.
The problem I have immediately just on looking at the Beadwrangler is that while she gives the number of beads per package, she doesn't give weight- and it's difficult to compare her prices to others as a result. Her containers do look nice and are practical if you like stringing straight from the container. But if that works for you, it is Not Wrong.
The other good options include ebay which often has bargains and keeping an eye out for several online stores including Fire Mountain Gems.

Hmmm - (looking at the page), - Yes, they're "at least 35 grams..." so I was working on each tube weighing 35 grams (net).
I have a similar deal working with my LYS, but I don't have a "bead store" contact. There are bead stores here, but their markup seems to be unbelievable - 700% - 800%. I'm a bit leary. Maybe it's just this one store. I can try others.
I certainly don't need bulk beads yet (still just designing). But, when I start putting together kits, that's when I'll really need the wholesale contacts. Initially, I was just going to get a bead spinner. (My near-term goals are 'sell two kits a month". I believe in starting small!) After I have a bit more experience, I'm hoping for a few more sales than "two!"
I just got a lead on a silk supplier from India. If I hang in here long enough, I'm pretty sure I'll find a bead supplier in taiwan (or wherever!)
